Here comes a flare!

Right now I could cry not that it would achieve anything. I woke up this morning laying on my side as always with my hips and spine feeling light a ton weight was sitting on me. I couldn’t move, or was to scared too already imagining how much the pain would magnify if I did. I was not feeling stiff so not my AS (Ankylosing Spondylitis) this was my Fibromyalgia.

I’ve struggled through most of the, doing some cooking and housework playing my favourite tunes. My mood improved but that was all. I’ve taken my Duloxatine and I’ve taken a Co-codamol. This is one of those stubborn flare ups that’s going to beat me. My hips hurt, my spine up to my neck. Then my shoulders decided to join in too and my hands 😔

It’s started snowing again and it’s so cold. The heating is on hut it makes no difference to this body. I’m finding it harder to understand Fibromyalgia. When it was just AS I knew what to do but know I really don’t. Do I use ice or heat? Painkillers or not? Most of the time I don’t bother with painkillers, they don’t work the majority of the time. What’s the point of putting more poison in my body.

Flare ups unfortunately are different for all of us so there is no easy answer as to what to do. All us Spoonies can do is share our experiences with each other and give them a try. I’ve tried moving around all day so now I’m trying to lay down and rest but I’m cold so doubt feel any better.

I personally don’t think there is much point in trying to figure out the cause, they are all maybes. So today may be due to the stress and upset at work which has caused my IBS symptoms to flare and anxiety. I’ve worked so hard to keep the two under control. It may be the weather. It’s the 18th March and it’s snowing! The weather is as confused as I am.
